STK and emissions testing
Intervals, the procedure and three classes of defects.
The technical inspection (STK) verifies that the vehicle is roadworthy. It also includes the emissions test, which used to be separate. Driving a vehicle without a valid inspection is illegal, and in the event of an accident the insurer may reduce its payout.
