Purpose and scope of the Act

Where the Act applies, who it covers and how it fits in with the other regulations.

Act No. 361/2000 Coll., on Road Traffic, is the main piece of legislation that governs driving in the Czech Republic. People call it “the rules of the road”, and that is fairly accurate: it sets out the rights and duties of everyone who takes part in traffic and lays down how to behave on the road. Almost every exam question refers either to this Act or to the decree that supplements it.
